RIF and National PTA: Working Together to Power Family Engagement

Did you know that February 11th marks the start of Take Your Family to School Week? Reading Is Fundamental is pleased to partner with National PTA to support the week’s activities by providing guidance and resources to help local PTAs make a major literacy impact! As part of the week-long celebration, RIF created a special book list to guide local PTAs as they select titles for education engagement events with students and their families. Local PTAs will host family fun activities including read alouds, literacy games and STEAM focused educational games all week encouraging families to get involved in their child’s education. Take Your Family to School Week is fun way to create a united front of parents, teachers and administrators at schools everywhere.

For each book title, RIF will provide free, downloadable resources on Literacy Central, including suggested literacy crafts, writing prompts, coloring sheets and a read aloud tip sheet for families to encourage engagement in children’s literacy development at home. As part of the partnership, RIF will team up with local PTAs to supplement their school libraries with hundreds of classic titles and corresponding digital literacy content.

RIF and PTA are working collaboratively to create a culture of reading at school and at home. RIF is committed to engaging whole families to build their child’s literacy skills and foster a love of reading. Our collaboration not only helps to engage and excite families around reading, but also empowers them with tools to support their children. RIF and the National PTA are proud to partner to create families of readers this Take Your Family To School Week!
