It's Like This, Cat

Fourteen-year-old Dave needs a friend, and Kate, the Cat Lady, provides one: a stray tom named Cat. Together, Dave and Cat explore New York City, meeting Tom, a troubled 19-year-old, and Mary, who introduces Dave to music. Unique features of New York in the 1960s--pastrami sandwiches, stickball games, and Coney Island--are captured in words and illustrations.
