Through the amusing adventures of lovable characters like Willow, Marvin, and Wanda, Shine Bright Kids teaches the importance of making good choices. Each story focuses on character lessons and life skills, such as setting goals and priorities, planning ahead, respect for others, having a positive attitude, and responsibility and gratitude. A playful star hidden within the illustrations creates teachable moments at different choice points in the story. With a professional background in financial planning and as a mother of young children, Christy Ziglar, CFP® was inspired to create Shine Bright Kids after her involvement in a financial literacy program for first and second graders in the Atlanta Public Schools. She realized that while teaching basic money skills to kids is important, the more critical challenge is equipping our future leaders with sound decision-making and life skills.
