When her family when to the Medieval Festival, Angie spent the whole day at the Birds of Prey booth. She met a falcon, a hawk, and an owl. Her favorite was the falcon. On the drive home, she shared what she had learned.
“Did you know that falcons have thin wings so they can fly really fast?” Angie asked her dad.
“Cool,” he replied. ”That must help them catch their prey.”
“Yep,” said Angie. “And did you know they have a tooth on the side of their beaks?” she asked her mom.
“Wow,” her mom said. “I thought they used the talons on their feet.”
”Nope,” said Angie. ”That’s one thing that makes them different from hawks and eagles.”
Angie’s brother shared a fact too. “The smallest falcon is less than 8 inches!” he said. “I like that, because I’m small too.”
Angie smiled at him. ”Falcons are amazing!” she said.
That night, Angie dreamed of falcons. She dreamed that she shrunk so small she could stand on the window-sill. And outside of the window, a falcon appeared!
Angie climbed on its back. She clung tight to its long feathers. She flew with the falcon through the dark night, past the twinkling stars.
When morning came, Angie didn’t want to wake up. She wanted to keep dreaming of falcons. She hoped that maybe that night she’d fly with falcons again.
