“Today we’re going to have a pop quiz,” said Mr. Vargas. “I’m going to share an animal fact. Then, you’ll tell me which animal I’m talking about. If you get all of them right, we’ll have a class pizza party!”
The kids in Mr. Vargas’s class were excited. This pop quiz didn’t sound too hard! They were sure they could guess all the animals correctly.
Mr. Vargas started with the first question. “Which animal looks white but has black skin?”
“A polar bear!” shouted the class.
“And which animal has square poop?”
“A wombat!”
“Which animal burps when it’s happy?” asked Mr. Vargas.
“James,” Eric joked. James smiled.
“That’s true,” said James. “But also, a gorilla!”
“Which animal has 3 hearts?”
“An octopus,” answered Anita.
“Last question,” said Mr. Vargas. “Which bird can fly backward?”
“A penguin?” guessed Rex.
“No,” said Amber. “They don’t fly at all.”
“How about an eagle?” asked James.
“Or a duck?” suggested Eric.
“I know!” said Anita. “I just saw one at my grandma’s house over the weekend. It’s a hummingbird!”
“It is!” said Mr. Vargas. “Pizza for everyone!”
“Let’s have a pop quiz every day!” said Amber.
“Burp!” said James.
