Eastern Cottontails: Baby Rabbits Grow Up
A mommy rabbit makes a nest.
She digs a hole in the grass.
She pulls out some fur.
She puts it in the nest.
This makes it soft.
She will cover the nest with grass to hide it.
The mommy rabbit has babies.
Baby rabbits are called kits.
The kits are very small and naked at first.
Their eyes are closed.
The kits grow quickly.
They grow fur and their eyes open.
They get bigger.
And bigger.
Then one day…
They are all grown up.
Now the kits are adults.
