Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak met when they were 18 years old. They had a lot in common. They both liked to eat apples. They were both interested in electronics.

The two Steves worked together on many projects. They built video games and calculators. But what they really wanted to build was a personal computer.

They wanted their computer to be simple enough that anyone could use it. They wanted it to be affordable. That way people without a lot of money could buy it too. They hoped that someday everyone would have a computer in their home.

The Steves sold some of their possessions to make enough money to start their own company. They worked out of Steve Jobs’ garage. In 1976, they created their first computer. They called it the Apple I.

Not long after that, the Steves released the Apple II. This computer had color graphics. It became very popular.

Over time the Apple computer company has grown. Now it makes all kinds of computers, electronics, and smart phones. The Steves definitely made their dream come true. You never know what might happen when good friends have a good idea!
