Burnside Elementary Jumps into Reading with Sinclair and Reading Is Fundamental

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – In honor of National Reading Month, WACH Fox’s parent company Sinclair has partnered with Reading Is Fundamental (RIF).

RIF has provided stations like WACH Fox with books for students at local schools.

I had the opportunity to read to second graders at Burnside Elementary. I read Jabari Jumps written by Gaia Cornwell. The book focuses on a young boy who has to muster up the courage to make a major leap in his life. Interestingly enough some of the second graders present, actually take swimming lessons.

Some students at Burnside walked away with a free copy of Jabari Jumps thanks to Sinclair and Reading is Fundamental.
