Kip Plaisted
English and Social Studies Content Leader
Kip Plaisted, a 21-year public school teacher, is happy to serve on the Middle School Literacy Advisory Board. A native of Maine, Kip moved to DC in 2010 and continues to serve in public education as both an English and Social Studies Content Leader. Kip delivers content on behalf of DC Public Schools Professional Development and is a fierce advocate for Young Adult Literature. He holds an M.Ed in Curriculum Instruction from University of Maine and serves in multiple leadership capacities within his current school, Stuart Hobson. Kip also serves as his school’s Debate Faculty Sponsor where 3 teams have participated in the National Championships and one first place win, during his three years as coach. He can be seen sharing his love of books with students over coffee and donuts. In Kip’s personal life, he is a father to a 17-year-old and husband to the most amazing man on some days. Go Panthers!
