Susan Browne
Professor of Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Education
Susan Browne, Ed.D. is an Associate Professor of Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Education in the Department of Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Education at Rowan University. Formerly a School District of Philadelphia classroom teacher, Dr. Browne currently teaches undergraduate and graduate reading courses. She serves as a research advisor to Master’s and Ed.D. candidates and teaches for the College of Education Center for Access, Equity and Success Ph.D. Program. Dr. Browne is a co-director of The Rowan University Writing Project. Her research interests and publications are in the areas of urban education, multicultural literature and reader response. She serves as reviewer for Children’s Literature in Education and Multicultural Perspectives.
