Books for Ownership, RIF’s flagship reading program, enables children to select new, age-appropriate books to take home and own and is supported by resources for parents, educators, and local literacy advocates to create a continuous focus on reading.
Read for Success is a kindergarten – 3rd grade supplemental reading program designed to improve reading proficiency and encourage a passion for reading. The evidence-based program is based on the wide body of research that demonstrates that both reading to children and independent reading are key components of literacy development. The program includes three critical elements:
RIF’s Book Fund provides the opportunity to purchase high-quality, affordable books for the children you serve. Schools, districts, community groups and other youth-serving entities are eligible to participate in the program.
Skybrary is Reading Is Fundamental’s (RIF) digital library for children ages 2 -9 (grades K-3) featuring hundreds of digital books across multiple subject areas, each with optional narration and real-world video field trips. It combines several key components that help children develop their literacy skills: high-interest books, read-to-me features, and encouragement for independent reading. Skybrary can be used at home or in schools.
